How would I classify it? (Genre)
Contemporary romance (kind of fluffy rom-com beach read)
What’s it about?
The main character Olive is one of two people at her twin sister’s wedding who did not get massive food poisoning. The other person is the brother to the groom, who she cannot stand. Since the honeymoon plans are non refundable the two of them go in place of the bride and groom. At first they plan to spend the trip separately but high jinks ensue and they start spending more time together and feelings start developing.
Any hotties?
The romantic lead was definitely your standard dream boat.
What I liked
I think the story moved at a good pace, and was a fun and easy read, but the best part of it, at least for me, was the tropical vacay vibes. I felt like I was transported to a Hawaiian resort, which was exactly what I wanted. The love story was cute, and had a very natural progression (with the help of a little forced proximity.) I also liked how the story continued after the vacation ended. It showed how the relationship held up outside of vacation mode, and the drama continued.
What I didn’t like
Nothing really if I’m being honest. No, I take that back, it made me long for a vacation in a tropical resort.
